Folkband "Green Jacket" stands for sparkling music on a compelling rhythm and with respect for Celtic tradition. Firm Jigs and Reels, hornpipes, slides and polkas are varied with strong songs and ballads, in which the beautiful voices of Katelijne Janssen(vocals/accordion) and Jan Debrabandere (vocals/guitar)  are accompanied by swinging fiddle, splendid Thin whistles, accordion, Highland and Lowland pipes, bouzouki, guitar and percussion/Bodhran.

The repertoire also contains own compositions, leaving room for improvisation.
Green Jacket regularly work together withsolo dancers and Ceili dance groups, combining Irish Stepdance, Scottish Highland and Countrydance with  "live" Green Jacket music.
The band also perform Balfok-repertoire, and were present at the Boombal-Rally.

Folk magazine 'Canard Folk" (F) : A good balance between vocals and instrumentals , between slow and  more rhythmic. Arrangements are intelligent and varied, and the repertoire is ecclectic.  Excellent !! "

Green Jacket already performed on numerous festivals: Labadoux in Ingelmunster, Dranouterfolk, M'Eire Morough festival, Zanzibal,  Oostende voor Anker festival, the Festival of Folk songs in Oostduinkerke, Boombal-Rally, Doedelfestival, International Whisky festival in Leiden (Holland), International Dance festival in Terneuzen, Karolye Fete de Musique traditionelle ,Hondschoote (F), Scottish Fair in Ghent, in many Irish Pubs ( St Patrick's Day !!) , on receptions, weddings and in small parish houses.

Green Jacket can be booked as a quartet-quintet for smaller stages, or as a festival band (extra percussionist and bass player). On demand the band can be booked with Irish Stepdancers.
